My migraines have almost gone, thanks to Apex Headache Clinic!
29-year-old Stephanie Carson, from Saintfield suffered with severe migraines which affected every aspect of her daily life. After thinking migraines were something she would have to live with, she visited Apex Headache Clinic in the hope that she would get to the source of the problem. Here, she shares how the clinic’s unique regime of specialist manual physiotherapy treatment for migraines and headaches, called The Nelson Headache Approach™, treated her migraines, meaning that she finally got her life back on track.
Stephanie, tell us how your migraines began?
I’ve been having migraines since I was 16 years old. The migraines got worse when I was doing my GSCEs but after, that I just lived with them until last year when they became unbearable. I had 13 migraines in one month. I attended my GP who prescribed medication to help with my migraines however it didn’t help significantly on it’s own.
How did the migraines affect your life?
My migraines affected my day to day life really badly. I would get a visual aura with the migraines and I wouldn’t be able to drive until this passed. This started happening so often that I was afraid to drive as it was so unpredictable and I didn’t know when a migraine would come on. It affected my whole life, I would have to leave work early when I took a migraine and I missed out on social events and even had to spend days on holidays inside, unable to go out and enjoy myself.
What led you to Apex Headache Clinic?
When I was on holiday, I was really suffering badly with my migraines, and I was desperately googling looking for a solution. That’s when I came across Apex Headache Clinic and thought I would book an appointment and give their specialist headache physiotherapy treatment a go.
