Hubert, when did your vertigo begin?
My vertigo began about eight years ago. I was told by a GP that it was from my arthritis and it was something I was just going to have to learn to live with. Over the years, it became progressively worse. I used to have it every few days, up until about three years ago, when it became constant. As a result, I also had headaches and neck pain and was taking painkillers four times a day. I was constantly feeling sick and feeling miserable. It was just awful.
How did the dizziness affect your life?
When I got up in the morning, I could hardly stand because of the dizziness. I was holding onto walls to get my balance, which made working extremely difficult. I couldn’t sleep at night so I was dealing with extreme tiredness too. I felt sick all day long and had neck pain and headaches. But when I lay down at night, that was when I was at my worst. I felt like the bed was spinning and I was falling backwards.
What led you to Apex Headache Clinic?
